ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 892 new cases of coronavirus as well as 17 deaths on Wednesday, according to health ministry’s daily report.
The latest positive cases – identified from 8, 254 tests conducted over the past twenty-four hours – has brought the total number of cases to nearly 81, 000 while death toll reaches at 1, 255.
There are now nearly 44, 000 active cases in the country, according to the Ministry of Health.
The number of people in hospitals remains stable, according to the daily report, which claims 245 severely ill patients are currently seeking medical attention in Covid-19 health centers.
On the same day, health officials also reported at least 710 patients of COVID-19 have recuperated from the respiratory disease causedbycoronavirus. The figure has taken the number of recoveries in the nation so far to 35, 670.
The East African nation has so far tested over 1.32mln people and confirmed 80, 895 infections.
